TBS March of War releases the first themed episode

ISOTX, developer and publisher of the award-winning Iron Grip-series, announces today that the premiere episode, Soviet Storm, of their free-to-play cross-platform episodic online multiplayer strategy game March of War is available now through Steam Early Access and the official website for PC and Mac.

March of War Episode 1: Soviet Storm tells the story of the Soviets violating the peace treaty and invading the city of Paris with an all-out attack. This is embodied by a compelling in-game world event, in which the Soviet Union and European Alliance play the lead role. This episode will see players aligned with these factions, and joining the fight for Paris armed with newly released units. Below is the trailer for this episode.

Some of the new units players can look forward to for this occasion include: Cossack Cavalry, the French Panhard Tank, the German Sturmtiger, the Cannon Walker, the Soviet Maxim MG Team and much more. Furthermore: there are some new unit skins available and several maps will have tech buildings at the disposal of players who can capture them, opening up a whole new set of tactics.

March of War quick review:

For those who haven't tried March of War yet, it  is an episodic, free-to-play, online strategy game set in an alternate 1940’s conflict, in which players fight for world domination. Six unique factions engage in vividly rendered 3D battles using a rich mix of dieselpunk inspired weapons and war machines. The game is built on turn-base mode which promises deep strategic thinking to utilize different kinds of troops, weapons, facilities on cruel battlefields.

March of War looks similar to Company of Heroes in its art style and WWII background, but it is somehow different. A new episode of themed upgrade content will be delivered to all players every month. This periodic upgrade will bring fresh air to those who actively combat in the deep history of WWII (an alternative history in this case). And like other free-to-play games, March of War does offer a special in-game currency called "gems" to boost some aspects of the game and fortunately there is no big unbalance caused by this monetization till now.

One interesting feature of March of War is Vote4War on the official site which allows players to give their favour to some types of weapons and troops that may be used in the game's episodes! This clever way may bring more interaction between the developer and the community in order to tailor March of War development.
