Nintendo Has Just Sold 10 Million Switches Worldwide

The Nintendo Switch has been getting a lot of buzz since its release in early 2017. Ever since then, Nintendo has actually had a problem keeping up with demand, seeing units fly off the shelves before they could restock them. Despite this good "problem" to have, Nintendo has recently reported that they've surpassed 10 million Nintendo Switch units sold.

One would probably think the holiday season has something to do with that landmark achievement, but aside from the general gift buying done around the holidays, Nintendo didn't discount the Switch for Holiday 2017. It should also be noted that this is 10 million units sold. Sometimes, sales numbers can be a bit deceptive by using 'units shipped' instead of 'units sold'.

To make things clear: This is 10 million Nintendo Switches sitting in a home/lap/bag/bus/playground/etc. There's also probably a number of them sitting in Christmas wrapping waiting for December 25, but that's still in the house, and it's still a huge achievement for the big N!

They shared this news on Twitter in frankly adorable manner.

10 million smiles indeed (plus some, considering they're revitalizing couch co-op). Thanks, Nintendo, keep up the good work!
